Project update

So finally I have all my images together for m y project.
After going to london and photographing a range of things there I found that i didn't want to base my project just on the architecture in London but I want to sort of document the city and capture the everyday life of the city it's self.

When walking round the city I felt like it wasn't reAlly lived in, all the people there were just commuters for work or tourists visiting the capital, everyone just passing through there was not feeling of homeliness, everything tall, grey, concrete and moving.
It's not until you reach places like st. James's park or Coventry garden until you start to feel like the city is a place where people live too, or at least that's how I feel?

I think if you were to visit the city at certainties of day eg at night or early hours of the morning is when you see a different side to the city, unfortunately I wasn't able to photograph during those times but would have loved too.

With in my project I've tried to capture London as it would be everyday and I hope by looking through them the reader can get a sense of what being in the city is like during the working hours of the day.

The project is shot on digital to give it that modern quick paced feel to incorporate with the fast flow of the city, also it has colour images missed with black and White to give the feeling of old tired with new and fresh like the building with in the city.

poster design

finally i have come up with my poster design for the exhibition, better late then never eh?
my design is very simple but i think effective, it give everyone exhitioning a chance to show off one of there images to intise people to come to the exhibtion.
ive used all my own images ion this poster but if used will include everyones own images.

here is my design:

Posters

Fort part of our project i know we have to come up woth some designs for a poster for out Exhibition.

along side doing this i have also been looking on the internet at sites and companies who produce posters for comercial and corpriate use.

when i first started searching on this i though i would mainly find just printing companies wgo take your design and print how ever many copies you like but instead i found that there is a whole range of  way of advertising useing posters, such as digital advertising, billboards and transport advertising all using posters.

here are two site wich i found when searching posters:

this site i found the most intresting giving you a rage of way to advertise using psters such as :
48 sheet (billboard)
96 sheets (billborad)
HD 48 sheets
HD 98 sheets
scrolling 58
Mega 6  (largest out door format)
backlit 48 & 96
Golden squares
Halo mega 6
land mark
3D build
and special builds

all these are a form of outdoor advertising on billboards, scrolling boards and stactic objects.

the other sight i foudn was as intrestign visually but i found it gave more options of how to advertise you choosen subject :

on this site you can advertise at:
Bustops
on buses
telephone boxes
mobile advertising (moving transport)
taxis
street furniture
and cinema adverts

the site itself i found quite basic but it was easy to navigate n read through.

By research these types of site i realised just how bigger market ther eis in advertising using posters in this way and just how effective it can be.

will post my examplse of exhibiton posters a bit later

some of the images i took in london yesterday

here are some of the images i took at brewers key yesterday in london, this is one of the area i will be photographing.

with these images i have tried to capture the old architecture within the city and this certain part of london is the east end near the docks. Brewers quay was some sort of industrial building.

im trying to show the modern along side the old with in the images so you can see how the city had evolved through its buildings.

im also trying to capture certain aspects of the building them selves

more place to the right is a new modern construcstion of business building and i will be taking a closer look at the interesting architecture there

websites. liked how this one was set out.

for the web site i like i have choosen Auto Trader, now you might think this is abit odd but i have a few reasons as to why i have choosen it.
1. the colour of the site is simple and easy to read, white with pale blue writing but not too pale you canot read it.
2. everything is catorgorised easily and to access a different section on the site you simple click on the link and you are there.
3. when looking for car then give you set options and advanced option allowing you to search exactly for what you want, they use your postcode to location the nearest car to you.

i think this site is wasy to use and give you loads of options to search for eaxctly what you are looking for, there is no confusion how to go where you want to on the site and what your looking for.
with every site im sure there are bad points, the only thing on this site for me is the advertising (wich is motor based)  but like with ever comercial site there will be adverts so its not a majour bad thing.

ok ive decided to go to london on monday to take images for my project.
my project will be based on london city architexture both moder and old. i want to be able to capture london as a city representing the divecity with in using the camra to pick out what i think represent london best through its buildings.
im going to try and stay away from the key landmarks with in the city because i feel they over power the real essence of london they shaddow the old back streets and new office block, the urban, the finacial and residecial areas of london.

i will be making a list of photographers who have photographed cities and hopefully will be posting that soon.
